Things You Should Know
Just a couple notes about your license application, there are quite a few questions and it does take a little time to navigate through the application so please have it before the trip so we don’t have to use up valuable fishing time getting them online, AND, when you get your Maine license it will have a MOSES ID number on it, that number is your personal ID# now and can be used for purchasing licenses in Maine at any time in the future instead of having to fill out the application again, so if you plan on fishing or hunting in Maine again, store that number somewhere safe.
Kids under the age of 13 years old are required to always wear life jackets on the boat unless we are at anchor, I do have youth life jackets but if they have one you know they are comfortable in please bring it along.
By Maine law I cannot legally fillet or remove the head or tail or alter the length of trout, salmon and a few other species, I can clean out the insides though and happy to do it at the end of the trip and put them in bags for you to take home in.
I have 2 coolers on the boat, one to keep fish in and one with ice to keep food and drinks in and I always have bottled water in it for guests. If you are going to keep fish, I recommend bringing a cooler and leaving it in your vehicle, there are several places nearby to get a bag of ice after the trip.
Alcohol is permitted on my boat, but if you’re looking to party and get drunk, I’m not your guide, I encourage everyone to relax and enjoy themselves with a few beers or a bottle of wine, but I reserve the right to end the trip if a client gets out of hand without a refund.
Any form of drugs including marijuana/CBD is strictly forbidden on my boat, as a US Coast Guard licensed captain, I am subject to federal laws and am at risk of losing that license if they are found on my boats.
As a Registered Maine Guide, we are considered an extension of the Maine Warden Service and we are held to a higher standard for following all fish and game laws in the state of Maine, to the best of my knowledge I strictly follow those laws.
Normally, morning trips will start at 6AM and we will return to the dock around noon; the afternoon trips begin at 1:30PM and we will return around 7:30. Full day trips will start at 6AM and return around 5PM. These times can be altered a bit and will change a bit in the spring and fall depending on sunrise and sunset times.
